Hidden Wells
Irene Wells
Hidden Wells is  lot like a box of chocolates.  To quote Forest Gump "... you never know what you're gonna get."  The quilt is created from bisected squares which are cut from strata.  Since you will be working with bias edges - a lot of them - the class is recommended for confident beginners and intermediate quilters.  There is no patterns for this class.

You'll find Irene a wealth of knowledge, with fabric choices and instruction!

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend at home today and come and have a great time with this class.

Winding Ways
Irene Moss
This template cut, pieced quilt is kaleidoscope in appearance. The template is by Marti Michell.

The pattern was first published in 1928 under this name, but is also known as Wheel of Mystery, Four Leaf Clover, Nashville, and Robbing Peter to Pay Paul. To achieve its dramatic effect, contrasting colors should be emphasized. This quilt pattern requires curves piecing and is a great class for the intermediate student.

Ribbon in Motion
Irene Moss
This bargello wall quilt is made from pieced strips cut from strata.  This strata is made of 1-1/2" strips in varying value.  It is the width and placement of these strips that make the quilt appear to be undulating in space.  The pattern, by Pat Lee, is required.

Saturday, June 14

$ 40.00

Snake River Log Cabin
Irene Moss
This wonderful log cabin quilt graces the cover of Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilt Book.  The original pattern was inspired by the Drunkard's Path block, and the curved illusion is made with the use of squares and rectangles.  The body of this quilt is made of one block; the borders and corners are made of other blocks.  This could be described as a scrap quilt since so many different fabrics in varying lengths are used.

The book is discounted 20% when you sign up for the class.

Star Shadow
Irene Moss
This beautiful quilt was on the cover of last quarter's Calico Cat newsletter.  The quilt is from Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilt Book.  It is made in two blocks: a traditional log cabin and a log cabin with a star and its shadow.  As in any log cabin quilt it is the position of light and dark values that create the block.  This more difficult patterns, which requires sewing "Y" seams (set-in) and keeping track of many logs and units is for the intermediate quilter.

Irene will enjoy teaching you these techniques and you will love the results.
